49 more days OMG

Well today I am 33 weeks and I have 49 more days to go (46 if Dr. Herzog induces on December 15th.) Sophia is said to be about 4 pounds and over 17 inches long this week. She is compared to a pineapple. She is also losing her wrinkly skin, and starting to thicken up to get ready to come and meet her mommy and daddy. We go back to the doctor on Tuesday with my mom and Zach's mom for a sonogram. I can't wait to see her, let alone meet her!
My School Shower
Today after school I had my school shower. My friends Shawn, Betty, Betsy, and Joy hosted the shower for me. We had a ton of fabulous food, super yummy cake, and a lot of my co-workers came to celebrate this exciting time with me. Sophia got so many great gifts. One of my favorite was some Spiderman burp clothes that my friend Brooke had made for her, so that her daddy would have something Spiderman for her. They are so much fun. We got a lot of clothes, blankets, toys, and other goodies. Here are a few pictures.

Sophia's 2nd Shower
Yesterday I had a shower thrown by my friends Roxie and Pam. A bunch of my friends came and celebrated with me as well as with my mom and my mother in law. The boys went and played a round of golf again, like the last shower and they enjoyed the beautiful day of golf. Us girls had a lot of fun sitting around talking about Sophia and all of her exciting toys and clothes she got. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

32 Weeks
56 more days! I can't believe how close it is getting. After talking with the Dr. yesterday, she could be coming on Dec 15th, so that would be 53 more days!!! Sophie is about 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up ALL of the space in my belly. I will start gaining about a pound a week that will go right to Sophie. I thought I was big now... I guess there is about 7-8 more pounds that I am going to add on! She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
Zach's school threw a shower for us on Tuesday, which was very nice. They had cake, punch, and snacks. We got a gift card to Babies R Us that we are going to save until after all the showers to see what we need to go back and get for Sophie.
I think we are pretty close to being ready to meet our little angel, but I am very excited about my shower that I have this weekend and the one that I have next week as well.

DR APPT
Today we had another doctor appointment with Dr. Herzog. My blood pressure and weight were both good. Sophie's heart beat was good and strong. We talked with Dr. Herzog about making the trip to the lake for Thanksgiving, and he told us no worries on that front.
I asked him if he he could tell if she was head down and ready to come in about 7-8 weeks. So he decided that he would turn on the sonogram machine, even though the sonogramist was not there and we would take a look. I was very excited since we have not seen Sophie since we found out that she was a girl 12 weeks ago. After the machine was up and running, he took us into the room and we got started. He started pressing some buttons and commented, "Doesn't it look like I know what I am doing?" He put the jelly on my belly, and found her head first! It is right where she is supposed to me, down, and ready to go. Her feet are up under my ribs, causing my discomfort, which he said I will just have to deal with. We also saw her heart beating, and she was very active, which again he said was great. I also asked him about how much he thinks Sophie weighs, and he said about 3 1/2 pounds. Zach asked him if he could tell if she was still a girl and he said, "Oh, that is beyond my capabilities!" He was joking with us, since he doesn't normally do the sonograms. This sonogram was just a quick look to see how she is sitting inside my belly. We also talked about moving the due date to December 15th!!!!
The next appointment is in two weeks and my mom and Zach's mom are coming since we have a sonogram scheduled with the sonogramist. They are very excited to see Sophie since neither of them had sonograms when they were pregnant.

31 weeks
Well last week, I didn't get around to putting up a post about Zach, Sophia, and me. Things were a bit crazy. We went to my friend Roxie and Jeremy's on Saturday to watch the Texas vs. OU game. GO TEXAS! Then we watched the Texas Tech game. Overall a great Saturday since both our teams won. Sunday, my body decided that it was time to get sick, so instead of heading to the fair with some friends for some yummy food, I laid around in bed while Zach worked on his masters classes, my mom brought us dinner, and then got up for a bit to help Zach pack to leave for camp with his fifth graders. Monday and Tuesday were two more days of feeling sick, just getting through the day to go home and lay in bed and with Zach being out of town, I did not hear, you're already in bed, you're still in bed, or you're not getting out of the bed. It was very relaxing, but yes I did miss him very much. Sophia is becoming more and more active. I feel like she is doing somersaults all day long, ending up very much in my ribs. Her and I have long talks about how she is causing mommy some pain, and occasionally, she will move, which is nice when she listens to me! Other times, it is just time to go and lay down.

So there is a small wrap up of the past week. And now on to Sophia at 31 weeks, 4 oranges, or nearly 3 1/2 pounds and almost 17 inches long. Hard to believe how big she is getting and only 63 more days til I get to meet my little angel. She is moving, kicking, swimming... and more... moving on to a growth spurt they say... where will she grow to? I don't think there is much more space for her, I am starting to feel bigger and bigger, with a bit more discomfort when I am sitting down, especially at work. I feel much better laying down or walking, which occurs most afternoons after school. I have almost completely lost my belly button, hopefully I won't have one that pokes out. We are looking into daycares for March when I go back to work, which is a whole other story for another time, but I know that we will find the right place for Sophia, I just need to give it to God and he will help us find the answers as he always does. He blesses me everyday with my husband, daughter to be, family and friends. I just can't wait to bring Sophia into this life and share with her. On another note, the nursery is coming along... just about finished... and I am looking forward to my next couple of showers.

Down to the Home Stretch

Well I am at 29 weeks! 11 more to go! This week Sophia is compared to a Butternut Squash! She is around 2 1/2 pounds and a bit over 15 inches long! In other news, Sophia has become very active during the hours of 2-7! She especially likes it up under my ribs! As Dr. Herzog told me to lay down on my left side when she makes her way up under my ribs, I lay down and she begins to kick like crazy... I am totally loving every minute of it! (when I am laying down.)
Today I made a trip to the Dr. Herzog's office and picked up my very expensive shot at the pharmacy, headed up to see Cindy, my favorite nurse, to then get sticked in my butt. Such fun! After that Zach and I headed home, and waiting for us on the front door step, was a toy chest, and no it is not for Sophia, it is for Zach. I needed to find some way to store his toys since I had to clean out some closets so I could have an empty one for Sophia. Putting it together was also lots of fun. It is getting a bit harder to get up and down at a quick pace, so it took us a bit of time to get it together. We took a break to eat some dinner. Then it was time to put together a shelving unit for Sophia's closet that my mom bought for us. I am getting ready to organize everything since I have my first shower this weekend, which I am really looking forward to. I am hoping to also get pictures up of her room soon. Look for those and my shower pictures!!
