Cold Cold Cold

So last week was a long week… and the reason why it has been so long since my last post.  Sophia got her first cold, yes her first… knock on wood.  She is almost 14 months old and we had our first cold.  Runny nose and a wet, nasty cough.  I took her to see the Dr. Poole on Wednesday afternoon, and guess what she says… no infection, no fluid in her lungs, no ear infection, no bacterial infection at all.  She said just to let it run its course…. hhmmm what to do.IMG_3101

Playing in the baby stroller… not meant for her!

Well we let it run its course.  She for the most part was a happy girl, although extremely clingy to Mommy.  I hate that she was/is sick, but I do love that she comes and lays down on my chest, since this rarely happens now that she is such an active toddler, oh my!

So, that is the first cold.  The second cold… that would be mine.  My 5th or 6th sinus infection since November, not to mention my 3 weeks of bronchitis.   I went to the doctor Friday afternoon and got more antibiotics and allergy medication.  Here’s hoping that this will kick start my immune system to get back to normal or I will be off to see an Immunologist.  YUCK.

And, finally another cold front came through on Thursday night, just in time for illnesses and baby showers… more on that later!

More Teeth… #10 and #11

IMG_3033

In the mist of a fussy breakfast, no morning nap, a fussy lunch and only playing with Mommy, I take a peek inside little monkey’s mouth and what do I find but two top molars coming in… now it all makes sense.  Here’s hoping that they come in fast!

13 months

So I know that Sophia is now a one year old toddler, and I debated on whether or not I was going to continue with updates on her after 12 months, but I decided that I would.  I might want to come back and read these later when she is much, much older. IMG_3047

So Sophia at 13 months you,

  • walk everywhere, you are getting so fast, that when you get excited you sometimes trip and fall, but you get right back up and keep on going
  • still wear a size 3 diaper, 12 month clothes and occasionally 12-18 month clothes (to sleep in mostly)
  • you sleep from 7 pm to 6 am and take a morning nap and an afternoon nap
  • Eat 3 meals a day, and yes you still take a bottle 3 times a day
  • NO MORE formula, now you drink ORGANIC WHOLE MILK (only warm and in a bottle)
  • You love oranges, pears, cantaloupe, grapes, cheese, ham, chicken, breads, crackers, rice, macaroni and cheese, ice-cream, cookies, and we have recently discovered that you love BEANS!!  all beans!
  • you love your little chair, purses, Little People, books, your shopping cart, your baby stroller, and Maverick
  • you help Mommy do the laundry, you love putting the clothes in the dryer and then closing the door when we are finished.
  • you also love helping Daddy do the dishes, you even put your toys in the dishwasher!
  • words you know: Momma, Dadda, doggie, this
  • put your hands up when you don’t know something like you are asking
  • shake your head no and push things away when you don’t want something
  • AND last but not least, you started signing more when you want something

You are still my whole world, when I wake up in the morning you always make my day better.  I look forward to everyday that we have together and I thank God everyday for you.  You are the light of my life, you are OUR SUNSHINE!  We love you bunches!!
