Show Us Where You Live Friday.... Nursery Edition

Its that time of the week again... Welcome to Sophia's Nursery... one of my favorite rooms.

This is looking at the room when you walk in. It is a small room, but it works well for Little Miss Sophia. You can see the wall with the window (curtains made by Honey, Zach's mom) and my two pictures added to give it a little girl flare and the cross below that (over S's bed) with her name, birth date, and birth information, a gift from Grandma, and opposite that side is another cute gift from a family friend that also includes her birth information.

This picture was taken several months ago, before Sophia was here, but I wanted to show off the bedding that my mother in law made for Sophia. She is very talented, Sophia and I are blessed to have her.

Close up of the bedding. It is green with brown polka dots and brown, green and white strips. It is beautiful.

She also made the quilt to match the bedding that is on the back of the glider. Also on the glider is the new blanket that Sophia got from her God parents, Jeremy and Roxie, and embroidered on the trim it says, To our Goddaughter, Sophia Marie Mitchell, May You Grow In Grace, Baptized May 17, 2009. It is precious.

This is the wall with the door and closet. She just recently got the bookshelf since she has so many books already... She's gonna be a reader like her daddy. Also I have the picture frame from Pottery Barn Kids that shows her first year from birth to one year... one of my favorite items in her room. Also when I was nursing I needed something with the time in her room, so she also has a clock in her room.

Sophia 's dresser. You can also see her name now up on her shelf above her crib, her letters came about a week before she was born. Also you can see her bow clip that I made for her. I just recently got the plate and piggy bank from Etsy.com, my new favorite place to shop for S.

Here is a close up of the plate and piggy bank... Don't you just love them. Also she has a cross on her dresser that she got from her Baptism. Also there is a block that S got from her Auntie Pam for her baptism. It has her birthday, baptism date, her name, mine and Zach's name and a S on the sides. It is super cute. I am not sure where she found it, but I know she ordered it online.

I hope that you all enjoyed Sophia's room. Have a great weekend.

Memorial Day Weekend

Well I have been a little bit busy this past week catching up on household chores... or at least trying to catch up... so I am finally getting the pictures up from the weekend at the lake. We went out Friday night and stayed til Monday afternoon. We wanted to try out the pool, but it was rainy and yucky most of the time.... then Sunday when it finally got pretty, the pool was waaaaaaaay to cold for little miss Sophia (and I want to be there when she gets in the pool for the first time.) Sunday was a wonderful day, I got to sleep in a little bit, thanks Grandma, we sat around all morning and afternoon playing with Sophia... feeling Presley kick... and eating with great family and friends. It was such a beautiful day and I got to spend it with people who mean the world to me... So thank you to all of you for being part of my life, loving me, and supporting me. I am truly blessed. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Cooking on Saturday with Pam... Sophia playing in her play pen... she enjoyed being with us in the kitchen!

So close to crawling... o my... need to baby proof the house... and soon!

Happy girl!!!

Grandma finally got me to sleep on her chest... they were both so very content and happy.

And yes I still like Grandpa... no more crying when I see him... well not that often.

See still happy!

And now I can feed myself... such a big girl!

Meeting Presley Kay... due in 4 weeks... if not sooner since Roxie is dilated to a 1 and having some contractions!!!

I love my Uncle Jere Bear!!

Show Us Where You Live Friday.... Dining Room Room Edition

Its that time again... FRIDAY!! One of my favorite days of the week... mostly because I get two whole days with my sweet little angel, but I get three this weekend... also because it is Show Us Where You Live Friday... welcome to my dining room. This was the room in my house that was empty the longest. My parents down sized to a smaller home shortly after Zach and I bought our house, so we inherited my grandmother's dining room table and hutch. My mom had it all these years and now I do. Before we got it I painted the wall with the hutch dark olive green. I love it.

The table pulls out to seat 8 comfortably but we have gotten 10-12 around it before!! I also want to get some sconces to put on either side of the hutch , but I haven't found exactly what I want yet.

This is the serving table and mirror, the mirror is from my favorite place, Garden Ridge.

I also have a wall with pictures of family weddings. Mine, my parents, and Zach's parents. I can't wait to add more to the wall!! Below are some more close up pictures of the pictures.
I hope you all enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We are headed to the lake for the weekend and Sophia is going to get her first dip in the pool.... if the weather permits!!

Sophia's Baptism

Today was Sophia's Baptism. It was a beautiful day. The sun was out shining bright and we spent it with our family and friends. I couldn't have asked for a better day. We are truly blessed.

Sophia and Honey at church waiting to be baptized.

Right after being baptized. She did so well, even when the pastor held her she didn't fuss much.

5 months!

Today Sophia is 5 months old! I can't believe that she is that big already. It really does fly by.

Sophia at 5 months you can:
  • wear size 2 diapers!
  • wear size 6 months clothes, but you can still fit into a few 0-3 month onesies
  • you like playing on the floor
  • roll over and over and over to get to something that catches your eye
  • you belly laugh all the time
  • you snuggle really well when you are tired
  • you sleep from 6:30/7 pm to 6:30/7 am
  • you don't like taking very many long naps, but you cat nap
  • you want to sit up but aren't quite there yet
  • you are a very happy baby... you have a great smile and dimples on either side of your mouth
  • you love to talk now, you have found a high pitch squeal that you love to hear
  • you no longer like it when people (mommy and daddy) leave the room
  • you can scoot around on the floor forwards and backwards
  • you eat rice, prunes and green beans
  • you will occasionally drink a little bit of juice from a sippee cup
  • you still have a bottle every 3 hours during the day
  • you prefer Mommy and Daddy, Ms. Cathie (who watches Sophia) you will go to Grandma (my mom) and Honey (Zach's mom, she's trying this name out)
  • you are a sweet, sweet wonderful angel baby, our blessing from God

Today we had a very eventful day. One of my sorority sisters from college is a photographer and she came by this morning to take pictures of Sophia to add to her website, lindseyspragginsphotography.blogspot.com. Some of the pictures are uploaded on her site. The rest are on her website, LindseySpragginsphotography.com.

I am also starting the count down to Presley Kay arriving in 5 1/2 weeks. Roxie is getting induced on June 24!!! We can't wait to meet you!

Homemade Green Beans

So my homemade green beans turned out really well. I bought a bag of frozen green beans and blended them all up into a super yummy runny green gooey mess! And Sophia enjoyed them. On top of that I spent only $2 on the green beans and made an equivalent of about 8 jars of baby food green beans!!! Super excited to try sweet potatoes and squash next!! Here is the princess reaching for some yummy green beans!

She really enjoys sucking her thumb while eating so we.....

Are trying the sippee cup instead, so far she wants that instead of her thumb, I just have to pry away the cup now to get food into her mouth!!
