18 month stats

Yesterday we took Sophia to the Dr. for her 18 month well check.  Everything looked great.  She sits so nicely for the doctor to check her out.  She did get a little mad at the dr because she wanted to play with the stethoscope.  It was quite funny!  No shots this time, Sophia won't get anymore until 2!  We will have to go back for Flu shot in September!

So at 18 months you:
weight: 22.6 lb - just below the 25th percentile
height: 33.25 in -just above the 90th percentile
head: still in the range for 75th to 90th percentile

I was a little concerned about her weight, but Dr. Poole assured me that she is still traveling right along the growth curve and that she is not worried.  We are still trying to find ways to increase her milk intake.  Today was a good milk day, yogurt and cheese and about 6 ounces of milk so far (which is huge in comparison to only 2 ounces).  She is really liking the milk in cups like Mommy and Daddy with a straw, so hopefully that keeps working and she will be drinking more and more.

Happy Father’s Day

We started Father’s Day on Thursday with dinner with my parents.  Zach and I found a recipe for Lobster Mac-N-Cheese through the cooking channel.  The recipe is by the Neelys. (We love watching their show)

Sunday, Sophia and I got up and ate her first breakfast, played, and then headed to Sonic to get Daddy breakfast for breakfast in bed.  She really enjoyed eating in the bed.  Then we got all packed up and headed to Jeremy and Roxie’s to spend the day by the pool and grill hamburgers.  Sophia and Presley had a great time playing together.  Presley is getting so big, she is walking now and trying to start talking too.  Sophia just kept giving her kisses it was super cute.

We got home a little late and Sophia had a dinner of champions… Cheerios with milk… one of the few ways that I can get her to have milk since she is no longer taking a bottle… she likes to play in the cereal mostly, but at least she eats and gets some of the vitamins from the milk.

Hope you had a fantastic fathers day honey.  I love bunches.  I love you as much as the sun is bright.  Thank you for making me a Mommy and thank you for being a hands on SUPER DAD!!!

18 Months

********* super long post *********

Today my sweet little Sophia is 18 months old, one year and six months, 1 1/2!!  OMG I really can’t believe that my little baby is now a walking and talking little person with a sweet and sassy little personality.  She is saying new words everyday, so many that I can no longer make a list of her words.  Among some of her many favorites are her Buggie, Turtle, coloring, sitting at her new table, going for walks, playing at the park, changing her clothes, running around in her diaper and being with Mommy and Daddy.

Sophia at 18 months you:

  • sleep for 12 hours a night and take one 2 hour nap or two 1 hour naps
  • are no longer drinking bottles, and not really drinking milk, but you will drink it from a milk box (Horizon Organic 2% not whole)
  • wear size 3 diapers still, but will maybe move up soon
  • wear size 12-18 month clothes
  • love fruit, meats, cereal, breads, yogurt, and juice
  • love playing with your baby dolls, buggie, turtles, coloring, pushing your stroller, going for walks, sitting in your chairs, putting clothes on and off, reading books,
  • still have your strong determined personality, when you want something you really want something you are sure to let everyone know
  • love the word no, and especially love saying “no, no no”
  • are picking up new words everyday, you point at something and we tell you what it is, and now you know the word
  • want to do everything by yourself, brushing your hair, your teeth, washing in the bath tub, putting on your clothes, eating, playing, getting mommies shoes, laying in mommy and daddy’s big bed, etc
  • we have started changing your clothes on the floor, as you are too long for your changing table now

Giving Maverick A Bath

We had to take Maverick to the vet on Monday because of his allergies, yes allergies.  The vet thinks that he is allergic to some type of grass and he has been on allergy medicine since the spring.  Well, over the weekend he broke out in a rash and Zach took him into the vet.  Long story short he is on new meds and needs a bath twice a week.  So we stripped Sophia down and gave her the hose.  She thought it was the best thing ever.  I didn’t actually get any pictures of Maverick but I got a few of Sophia playing with the water hose.
