New Weekly Routine

So we have gotten our nightly routine down pretty good. I pick up Sophia, then we come home and play some then I nurse Sophia. After she eats, we head out for our walk. When we get back from our walk Sophia has some playtime and then Zach and I cook dinner and get lunches ready, bottles ready, diaper bag ready, and so forth...After dinner we have a little bit more playtime, then bath time, bottle with Daddy, and Sophia is off to bed.
On another note... one week of work down... 10 more til summer time. I might be already getting the hang of this... as long as I don't stop going until after Sophia goes to bed I have more energy than I thought. We are even still going on our daily walks!!! YIPPEE.
I am truly blessed. I thank God everyday for my sweet baby, my husband, my home, my job, and my family and friends that are there everyday to help support me in everything that I do.
Here is a quick video of Sophia sitting in her Bumbo chair playing while we got dinner ready one night this past week. She was a very good girl.
Check out my beautiful baby...

Big Girl Bottle

So lately Sophia has moved from 6 feedings a day to 5 feedings a day and is doing great. She is getting more bottles now since she is going to the sitter during the day. I miss nursing her all the time, but at least she is still getting breast milk and not formula, except for her night time bottle, which is where this is all going. Sophia is now using the big 8 0z bottle, however is eating 6 ounces instead of the normal 4 ounces. My o my she is becoming quite the big girl... she is even trying to hold on the bottle. I love discovering all the new things that she does. She is doing something new everyday. It is such a wonderful blessing to be a mom.

Spring Break and Back to Work...

Oh my goodness so much has happened in the past week. The last couple of days of spring break Zach, Sophia, and I headed out to the lake for Thursday and Friday. Then headed back in town for Saturday I had a baby shower to attend and we had some friends coming over to meet Sophia and play for awhile.
So the exciting news is that Sophia got her first tooth on Friday. Thursday's drive to the lake was a mess. Sophia did not want to be in her car seat, she wanted to eat, so we stopped at the Walmart in Greenville and I nursed, and yes in the car. Once back on the road, she still was not a happy camper, Zach had to ride in the back with her the rest of the way. She was pretty fussy all day Thursday... and much to our surprise we woke up Friday morning and she had her first bottom tooth!!!
Jordan was out at the lake with us for the weekend and he was such a great big cousin. He read to her, he pushed her in her stroller, he played with her, and he even changed a couple of diapers.

I also must post a picture of my gift that I put together for a friends shower. I was so proud of it.

Now onto my first day back at work... it went must smoother and easier than I anticipated. The day seemed to fly by and Sophia had a great day at Ms. Kathy's. She is a wonderful woman, I couldn't ask for anything better. It helps reduce the anxiety knowing that my sweet angel is being loved on all day long. I will have to let you know how the rest of the week goes by.... hopefully very fast.

3 Months Old Today!!!

So I think I might start each monthly birthday post with OMG I can't believe my baby is __ months old... and this time she is 3 months old. I can't believe it!!!
We had a very busy day today. We woke up late since it is Spring Break and Daddy is home with us and sad to say it is my last week at home with my sweet angel since I go back to work on Monday :(
We ran a whole bunch of errands with Grandma today, she is on Spring Break as well. We went to Central Market, Bed Bath and Beyond, Sears, Target, Michael's, and Tuesday Morning. We were very very busy. After wards we came home and had a little arts and craft session. You'll see below what we were creating!!
After arts and crafts we went to Jeremy and Roxie's for dinner since Patty, aka Pooh Bear, was in town picking up Amber and Reagan. Pooh Bear got to play with Sophia since she had not seen her since the hospital 3 months ago... and she got to give Sophia her fussy night time bottle.

Sophia at 3 months old....
  • is a little rolly polly and seems very close to rolling over very soon
  • loves talking to Mallory the Monkey... her favorite toy
  • enjoys laying on the floor kicking like crazy
  • has started reaching for objects
  • is always searching for her right thumb or her left 4 fingers
  • has moved from 6 feedings to 5 feedings
  • sleeps from 8/8:30 pm to 6 am
  • loves to sit up, of course with a little bit of help
  • talks to herself and keeps herself entertained, which is fabulous!!
Nicknames at 3 months...
  • So orginally Zach and I thought that we would be calling her Sophie.... however she just does not seem like a Sophie to us... we are sticking with SOPHIA, it just seems a bit weird to hear her being called Sophie... its funny how things are after having her (later in life friends might change that but to our family we are keeping with Sophia)
  • Love bug
  • Princess
  • Angel face
  • Angel
  • Little Miss
  • S
  • Bugs (which is crazy since that is a nick name I had growing up)
  • there are probably more but right now I can't think of anymore

So on Saturday after lunch with Roxie and Pam we went into this little baby shop in Richardson called the Little Lam and I found a super cute shopping cart/high chair cover, and Roxie got a very cute Rabbit and Piggy bank for Presley. They also had these super cute bow holders, however they were very expensive, so I decided to attempt to make my own, and I think it came out very cute. I also made one for Presley that is the same but black. If you are interested in making one let me know and I can give you the details.

A Visit to Grandma's

This past Thursday night we went to my mom's for dinner since Zach had to go back up to school for open house. My brother and mom cooked a yummy dinner for us.
Practicing sitting up on her own. She really likes to be up these days to see what all is going on!

Played herself to sleep!
The bumbo chair... she liked the toy being right in front of her... she was trying really hard to get to the toy!

Since it's been raining....

I thought I would finally get around to blogging about our BEAUTIFUL Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday Zach's parents dropped Sophia off after babysitting her over the night on Saturday around 10. I fed Sophia then got us ready to go and meet my mom for lunch at Red Robin. Then we ran to the grocery store. When we got home I fed Sophia again, and my mom, me, Zach, and Sophia went for a walk in our neighborhood. After wards we came back to the house and Zach pulled weeds and Sophia, my mom and I hung out in the front yard and played while Zach worked.

All smiles before going to lunch... but then again she is all smiles all the time... she is such a good baby!!

Zach pulling weeds... I sure hope our lawn is as pretty as it was last year!

Grandma and Sophia

Super cute in her hat and work out outfit!

Such a sweet boy... Maverick chillin in the yard!

All girls Happy Hour

So tonight I went out for the first time without Zach and Sophia to meet my friends from college for happy hour and dinner. We met in Addison at Mercy Wine Bar, which was FABULOUS. It was nice to catch up with the girls since it had been so long since I had seen them. We laughed alot about the good ole college days, gossiped about friends we hadn't seen in a long time, and over all had a much needed girl time. I love and miss(ed) my girls!

A day of play!

Sophia did a lot of playing today... and boy did she play hard. So hard she fell asleep both times in the middle of playing.

She has discovered that her bouncy seat has toys!! She really likes the blue bird.

She finally grabbed a hold of it!

And then it put her to sleep... it was hard work... and yes, again with the thumb... she loves it!

After lunch we played on the floor some together. She is kicking up a storm. She can move those legs so fast. She is also rolling from side to side a lot. She gets her body around, and her head, but has not yet discovered that if she gets her leg around she will turn over, but we are practicing. I love watching her play when she discovers all the things to look at. She just smiles, kicks, talks to you, and tries to get that yummy thumb in her mouth. And again she fell asleep in mid play. It is just so exhausting!! She is just so precious!

The battle I have lost

So that past week or so Sophia and I have been battling the thumb. I of course do not want her to suck her thumb so that she does not have an over bite or buck teeth. So I had been taking her thumb out of her mouth and replacing it with the pacifier. For about two days this tactic worked. However since Sunday she does not even want the pacifier. She screams and gets very mad when I try to put the pacifier in her mouth. I have lost the battle to the pacifier.
On a good note, the thumb is my new best friend. I can put her down after her 8 bottle at night and she puts herself to sleep. My sweet little baby is sleeping from 9-5 and some nights she is asleep at 8:30!!! So hopefully when I go back to work on the 23rd she will sleep from 8:30-5. I am hoping that we will get our morning routine down so that we can get up a bit later. Here are a few pictures of Sophia and her thumb!!
